Dwellings operates against a backdrop of severe housing undersupply, with an estimated 10,000-15,000 units per year of unfulfilled need. Whilst the Dublin residential market is mature and well capitalised, there is undersupply of capital for development in other Irish population centres.

Matter has backed the Dwellings team, led by one of Ireland's most experienced housebuilders, to deliver in excess of 2,000 homes in locations which benefit from strong employment and high quality infrastructure.

Since our initial investment in 2019, the management team and Matter have worked to rebrand the business and build out a best-in-class construction and sales infrastructure. Dwellings is now positioned as one of Ireland's leading medium sized housing developers, with a differentiated proposition focusing on first time buyers.

We are delighted to be working closely with the Matter team who from the outset demonstrated a deep understanding of the structural imbalance between housing need and the chronic housing undersupply, particularly in regional Ireland.
